The Thing (1982) The Thing (1982) This film of horror about a strange creature with a form that can change in an isolated (blog post) research station in Antarctica provides a masterclass in suspense and realistic effects. Direction by John Carpenter is masterful, and the actors in The cast, particularly Kurt Russell, are all superb.
